Magical Arrangements for the Office

How does your workplace like to decorate for the holidays? Poinsettias and wreaths? The tried-and-true Christmas tree you pull out from the back and dust off, year after year? One of the great joys of the holidays, or so we think here at The Flower Bucket, is rediscovering the decor we love and cherish all over again. That special ornament or candy dish we forgot for a whole year is loved anew. And it's the same with decorating our workplace; everyone can have fun decking the halls (or their desks) and hanging ornaments on the tree, finding all of those decor items they put up last year. We think a bountiful display of fresh blooms really adds to that spirit. Read More about Magical Arrangements for the Office »

A Classic Cornucopia for Thanskgiving

One of the most recognizable symbols of Thanksgiving is the cornucopia, a horn-shaped container usually filled with fruit. The cornucopia has been around since antiquity, where it appeared in myths and later in art. Meant to represent the abundance, this emblem was brought to the table and displayed as a sign that the harvest had been fruitful that year. Today, you'll see all manner of cornucopia horns - usually baskets - in stores, just waiting for you to stuff them full with seasonal decor. But at The Flower Bucket, we have a better idea. We think the best cornucopias are the ones overflowing with fresh flowers. Read More about A Classic Cornucopia for Thanskgiving »

Custom Florals for Holiday Hosts

If you're spending Thanksgiving at someone else's table, as many of us will this holiday, it's time to think about what you may be bringing to contribute. And we at The Flower Bucket don't mean your signature stuffing; we're talking about flowers. Specifically, in the form of a host gift. It's customary in the U.S. and across the globe to offer a gift to your magnanimous host. It's a classic, classy gesture that expresses your gratitude for their time and energy, and a vivid reminder of your relationship to them. Read More about Custom Florals for Holiday Hosts »

Handsome Hues for Veterans Day

Between Halloween and Thanksgiving there's Veterans Day, an occasion we've celebrated in one form or another since 1919, when it was called "Armistice Day" and devoted to remembering the end of WWI the year before. Today, it's a time to honor our U.S. military veterans for their incredible service to country. And while our San Antonio community comes together to celebrate these heroes, we may also want to personally extend our gratitude to our deserving family and friends through a gift like flowers. Given that the overwhelming majority of vets are male, The Flower Bucket suggests that you pick an arrangement rich with handsome hues. Read More about Handsome Hues for Veterans Day »

Kind Gestures on Sweetest Day

Sweetest Day is a day set aside for kind gestures and sweet acts of kindness. Although not the most well-known of holidays throughout the United States, the observance has been popular in the Midwest and the Northeast for over 100 years. Sweetest Day began in Cleveland in the early 1900's, as a day when local candy companies would give out thousands of boxes of chocolates to the underprivileged, orphaned and shut-in. The idea caught on thanks to broad media coverage, and within 5 years, New York State also adopted the concept. Since we love the idea of giving gifts for no other reason than to make people feel valued, happy and loved, The Flower Bucket has put together a Sweetest Day collection sure to make your loved ones smile.  Read More about Kind Gestures on Sweetest Day »
