Handsome Hues for Veterans Day
Between Halloween and Thanksgiving there’s Veterans Day, an occasion we’ve celebrated in one form or another since 1919, when it was called “Armistice Day” and devoted to remembering the end of WWI the year before. Today, it’s a time to honor our U.S. military veterans for their incredible service to country. And while our San Antonio community comes together to celebrate these heroes, we may also want to personally extend our gratitude to our deserving family and friends through a gift like flowers.
Given that the overwhelming majority of vets are male, The Flower Bucket suggests that you pick an arrangement rich with handsome hues.
Take our Pink Lemonade for example. The flowers are classic – roses, lilies and daises – but the colors are not. An unusual combo of golds and oranges with a touch of citron and salmon and dark green leaves, this arrangement is dignified and elegant. Tied off with a textured brown ribbon, it makes a lovely piece for a nightstand or office desk. There’s nothing fussy or showy about a design like this; it communicates respect and affection for the recipient.
The fact that the blooms are in a jar renders the whole piece approachable and grounded. Look for a design that can achieve these things, and you’ll bring a smile to your favorite patriot’s face.
This Veterans Day, we at The Flower Bucket join you in saluting our cherished U.S. military veterans, both local to us in San Antonio and throughout the country.test
