February is one of our favorite times of the year, at The Flower Bucket, because it means we have the privilege of helping couples, romantics, and friends celebrate Valentine’s Day with beautiful floral bouquets, arrangements, and centerpieces. Whether given alone or along with candy or a piece of jewelry, a spray of delicate blossoms are the perfect way to express your feelings.
When Pantone® announced in early December 2018 that their chosen color for 2018 would be Ultra Violet, it’s hard to imagine that there weren’t a lot of collective sighs and head shaking among designers throughout the world. Our floral designers at The Flower Bucket in San Antonio love our creative challenges, and this is an exciting one because of the intensity of the color.
Here at The Flower Bucket, we’re intimately familiar with all of the ways people give flowers to each other. We’ve seen all of the occasions, all of the approaches, and made all of the arrangements. We’re continually surprised by the imagination and creativity that comes into play when we exchange flowers, both on our part and on our clients’. One concept we love is giving flowers for a year, an approach that makes a lot of sense at the New Year.
There’s nothing worse than coming down with something in winter, otherwise known as cold and flu season. Whatever you catch feels like it can drag on for months, and coupled with the fact that it’s colder and bleaker outside, can definitely induce the winter blues.
We here at The Flower Bucket have the perfect cure all, and science supports us. In fact, a number of studies show that flowers help us maintain a positive outlook as well as strong relationships with family and friends. They’ve been associated with lower blood pressure and less use of pain medication if a patient has them in his or her hospital room.
Sometimes, it can feel a little like winter is never going to end, even if we don’t experience the worst of it here in San Antonio. We yearn for spring’s bright days and bountiful blooms, and the thought of it alone immediately perks us up, pulling us out of the winter blues. The Flower Bucket knows exactly how to bring that feeling into our homes during winter, no matter how long it stretches. The answer is through flowers, but not just any flowers.
As we peek ahead to 2018 (after all, it is just around the corner), we here at The Flower Bucket can’t help but pick up a little design inspo from the folks over at International Floral Distributors, who recently released their floral trend report.
Of the four styles identified, we’re highlighting just one, “Incarnation of Earth’s Element.” Yes, it’s a mouthful, but believe us, this floral look is all about organic minimalism.
How does your workplace like to decorate for the holidays? Poinsettias and wreaths? The tried-and-true Christmas tree you pull out from the back and dust off, year after year?
One of the great joys of the holidays, or so we think here at The Flower Bucket, is rediscovering the decor we love and cherish all over again. That special ornament or candy dish we forgot for a whole year is loved anew. And it’s the same with decorating our workplace; everyone can have fun decking the halls (or their desks) and hanging ornaments on the tree, finding all of those decor items they put up last year. We think a bountiful display of fresh blooms really adds to that spirit.
If you’re spending Thanksgiving at someone else’s table, as many of us will this holiday, it’s time to think about what you may be bringing to contribute. And we at The Flower Bucket don’t mean your signature stuffing; we’re talking about flowers. Specifically, in the form of a host gift.
It’s customary in the U.S. and across the globe to offer a gift to your magnanimous host. It’s a classic, classy gesture that expresses your gratitude for their time and energy, and a vivid reminder of your relationship to them.
The expectation of autumn is exciting for many reasons. The air begins to cool off a bit, the leaves in Lost Maples State Park are turning colors, and even our coffee reflects plenty of pumpkin spice. Autumn colors are emerging everywhere, from attire to decor – and we love to change things up to reflect the new season! At The Flower Bucket, our floral designers have created the fall flowers and autumn home decor that will transform your space with inviting hospitality.
The true hallmark of autumn decor is the vibrant color palettes. Vivid yellows, burnt oranges, rich golds and deep burgundies add comfort and warmth to your environment, utilizing many of the fall flowers you love. Continue reading
The alarm clock rings and we are off and running. From the moment we open our eyes until our head hits the pillow, most of us have full days, every day. We have errands to complete, appointments to keep and responsibilities to fulfill.
It’s true, our lives are overflowing with lots of things that we have to do, which is why August 27 offers us a welcome change from our routine. Just Because Day beckons us to set aside those things we must do, and instead spend a few hours doing things we truly want to do. The team at The Flower Bucket has experienced first hand how meaningful it is when someone receives flowers “just because”, and we would love to conspire with you to surprise the people in your life who deserve some unexpected joy.
