A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. – Joseph Campbell
Memorial Day gives us an opportunity to stop and reflect on the many men and women throughout our history who have paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. It is a day filled with patriotism and gratitude, and at The Flower Bucket, we have the Memorial Day Floral Designs that will convey your sentiments and honor the fallen.
Thee are many ways in San Antonio to immerse yourself in the significance of this day – here are just a few of the events in town.
* The Institute of Texas Cultures is offering special programs from from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
* The United States Air Force Band of the West will present Gateway Brass, from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at San Antonio Botanical Garden. You can enjoy the gardens, as well as a patriotic show.

When choosing the appropriate Memorial Day floral designs, we can help! Although th color palettes, may be the same, the place to which you are sending the flowers will largely determine thieir style. For instance, if you are sending flowers to the home of a friend or family member in order to express sympathy and respect, a bouquet or floral design in a vase is perfect. Select red roses, white mums, and blue hydrangea and delphinium for a patriotic design with a contemporary twist.
If you are sending flowers to the cemetery or similar memorial, funeral-style flowers are generally more appropriate – crosses, wreaths, or urns are more popular for these formal settings.
But no matter your choice, you can be assured that the floral designers at The Flower Bucket will be here to help. This May 29, spend some time thinking about the many heroes who have come before us, and honor them with the esteem they deserve. We’ll bring the flowers.
